Geraldine MacTavish studied Sport science in TUI Dublin and has spent many of her years in the sporting fields of outdoor education, sport science performance, youth development and cultural planning.

In August 2018, Geraldine became the first Diversity and Inclusion officer in a sporting organisation and challenged the sporting bodies across the world to create more opportunities to help disabled people, the LGBT communities, ethnic minorities and to help communicate the voices of the excluded and diverse. She has worked on Human Rights education and training with the Council of Europe and is an advisor to the Irish Human Rights Commission in Ireland. Providing the GAA with a best practice policy and implementation framework in the fields of diversity ensuring our Association and Games are open and welcoming to people regardless of gender, backgrounds, cultures and traditions, and inclusive of persons of all abilities. Advisor of best practices to the family of Gaelic Games, LGFA, Camogie, Handball & Rounders. Previous experience as club development manager with Special Olympics Ireland and the Irish Athletic Boxing Association (IABA). Geraldine is an experience sports presenter on the Irish channel TG4, a motivational speaker and has a huge grá for her Irish language, sports, arts, and culture.
